The founder of GoDaddy is the new owner of the Westgate Entertainment District in Glendale.

Bob Parsons’ real estate company, YAM Properties LLC, bought the complex near 91st and Glendale avenues from the company iStar Inc. It paid $133 million for 533,000 square feet of developed space and 33 acres of undeveloped space.

Dan Dahl, director of real estate for YAM properties, said having the Arizona Coyotes and Arizona Cardinals next door was not the sole reason for the purchase.

"But obviously both of them and the arenas and the other events they have, the concerts and the bull-riding events — is a huge contributing factor for us," he said.

The Arizona Coyotes hockey team is currently on a year-to-year lease at Gila River Arena, which Glendale owns.

YAM Properties is based in Scottsdale and owns three other sites in north Glendale.
