Arizona’s congressional delegation is speaking out in anticipation of a vote on a second, so-called, "compromise bill" next week after the U.S. House failed to pass one version of an immigration bill on Thursday.

Rep. David Schweikert said despite heated discussions that continue on the House floor, he expects lawmakers will draft conservative immigration legislation that everyone can live with ahead of the midterm elections and that he expects to vote for the new bill. "There’s going to be some cantankerous conversations and I’m hoping we can drag them together so we have a really good, conservative, solid bill that really helps our society."

But, Rep. Ruben Gallego said there is no compromise to be made since the new bill includes "indefinite detention until they’re deported or the determination whether they’re allowed to stay here. So, we’re switching from separating kids to large internment camps."

Rep. Debbie Lesko and Rep. Paul Gosar are among other Republicans that do not support the amnesty provisions for DACA recipients and their parents.

The bill that failed was introduced by Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte. The so-called "compromise bill" was put together by GOP leadership.
