Northern Arizona residents who get their health benefits from the state’s Medicaid program will be assigned a new health plan provider after it dropped one of its major insurers.

The Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System dropped United Healthcare this month, according to the Arizona Daily Sun. That means more than 10,000 Coconino County residents will need to choose one of two companies by the end of the month.

According to the news report, AHCCCS is moving to a complete care model which combines physical and mental health care into one plan. Prior to that, some AHCCCS users needed two separate plans.

People living in central and southern Arizona who are on AHCCCS will not be impacted.
