To say Susan Lisovicz did not think she had cancer is an understatement.

She’d been told her excruciating stomach pain was the result of constipation. But, after another trip to the emergency room, a specialist told her the pain was actually Stage 3 ovarian cancer.

Lisovicz, who is a longtime journalist and visiting professor at ASU’s Cronkite School, wrote about her experience in the Washington Post.
