The contestants on NBC’s craft show “Making It” prove that creativity is limitless. Hosts Nick Offerman and Amy Poehler encourage an entourage of crafty citizens in a competition show that feels like if the “Great British Bake Off” and “This Old House” had a baby.

It’s definitely a feel good kind of show filled with fun challenges, inventive projects, and plenty of puns. One of the “makers” on the program is interior designer Joanna Gick from Chandler. She says she applied for the show on a whim.

“I was home by myself, it was late at night, I’m just sat down and I’m going to apply. So I just applied online. And I didn't hear back for several months, so I thought, OK, well I guess that isn’t going to pan out,” Gick said.

She not only got a call back but she made it onto the show.

Gick says the entire experience was magical. Even though it’s a competition show, she never felt pressure to be better than anyone else.

As for hanging out with Amy Poehler and Nick Offerman, Gick says they’re just genuinely fun people to be around.

Catch Gick — with along with Amy Poehler and Nick Offerman — Tuesday evenings on “Making It” on NBC.
