There’s near universal agreement in Arizona that the state needs to increase funding for K-12 education — whether it’s to get back to pre-recession levels or if it’s more ambitious than that. But the proposal to increase taxes on the state’s wealthier residents is where the dramatic disagreement starts.

So is there some common ground to be found when it comes to Invest in Ed? Maybe not, but if the measure makes the ballot and an ultimate outcome puts at least $1 billion toward public schools, that path is a lot smoother.
