It’s been a rapid-fire monsoon season, and one of the reasons for the back-to-back storms is high wind.

When the wind quickly clears out all clouds after a monsoon storm, the temperature rises and percolate another storm, said Marvin Percha, a meteorologist with The National Weather Service in Phoenix.

“We've been having stronger than normal winds, and that helps to mix the atmosphere,” said Percha. “Also it provides lift for the storms.”

Once this batch of moisture passes, Percha predicts a quieter period with fewer storms.
