A federal judge has ruled against U.S. Education Secretary Betsy DeVos, in a case brought by 19 states and Washington, D.C.

They had argued DeVos improperly delayed a rule implemented by the Obama administration that aims to protect students who took out loans to attend for-profit colleges, when those colleges were found to have engaged in misconduct. The rule was based on a 1990s law that allows students who can prove they’ve been defrauded by a for-profit college to have their loans discharged.

Shira Schoenberg, political reporter for The Springfield Republican, joined The Show to talk about the decision.
