Breakfast, lunch and dinner items will be available at a Tempe dispensary starting in October 2018.

Tempe will soon be home to what’s believed to be the country’s first full-service cannabis kitchen for medical marijuana patients.

While pre-packaged snacks and shelf-stable food items have been available at Arizona dispensaries, fresh foods made on-site have not.

When it opens next month, the commercial kitchen at The Mint Dispensary will offer breakfast, lunch and dinner. Chef and cancer survivor Carylan Principal will prepare cannabis-infused meals that patients can order to go.

“Our kitchen is one of a kind,” Principal said in a prepared statement. “It’s a place where art meets science. In addition to understanding the variety of flavors that different cannabis strains can add to any dish, we’re also carefully calculating customized cannabis doses.”

A barista and juice bar will also be part of the kitchen and free cooking classes are being planned for around the holidays.
