A New Wave Of Technology Skeptics: Neo-Luddite Movement Grows

During the Industrial Revolution, some textile workers in the U.K. rebelled, destroying the machinery that was doing their jobs. They were called Luddites.

But today, in a world of Russian hacking, data tracking and targeted ads, there is a new wave of Luddites who view technology with a healthy dose of skepticism.

It’s what writer Blake Snow calls “reformed luddism.” He said it’s a reaction to the personal cost of all the constant swiping, checking and updating that we do on our smartphones all day.
