U.S. Foreign-Born Population At Historic High

From restricting refugees to securing the border, the Trump administration has taken a multi-pronged approach to limiting immigration.

But new numbers released by the U.S. Census Bureau show the foreign-born population in the United States has reached its highest share since 1910, and the demographics of those immigrants are changing.

While so much of the rhetoric around immigration has to do with protecting our southern border, a new analysis by the Pew Research Center shows that, in recent years, Asia has surpassed Latin America as the largest source of newly arrived U.S. immigrants.
