Tropical storm Rosa flash flood risk.

Hurricane Rosa lost some momentum over the weekend and is now a tropical storm. It brings welcome relief from high temperatures, but much of Arizona is on high alert for more rain and possible flash flooding.

The first signs of Rosa were seen Sunday night as thunderstorms and heavy rainfall hit the southern part of the state. On Monday morning, much of Phoenix woke to gray skies and some drizzling.

Jaret Rogers, senior meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Phoenix, joined The Show to explain what Arizonans can expect from Tropical Storm Rosa.

South of Rosa and Baja California, another tropical storm is building strength in Pacific.

Tropical Storm Sergio is churning northwest at 70 miles per hour as of Monday morning. Meteorologists with the National Hurricane Center say early indicators show it could take a sharp right turn toward the Baja peninsula later this week and strengthen into a major hurricane.
