Football for a Buck: The Crazy Rise and Crazier Demise of the USFL by Jeff Pearlman

Decades ago, the United States Football League — or USFL — was started as a springtime alternative to the NFL. And it was semi-successful initially — attracting some of the more talented college football prospects, names like Herschel Walker and future Super Bowl champion quarterback Steve Young.

But then the ambitions of some of its owners got a little bit too great, causing the league to go under long before any hopes of merging with the NFL could come to fruition. One of those owners was Donald Trump.

Jeff Pearlman, author of the new book "Football for a Buck: The Crazy Rise and Crazier Demise of the USFL" joined The Show to talk about it.
