Arizona residents have until 11:59 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 9 to register to vote in the general election.

Several organizations are still registering people to vote before the deadline. Those who have yet to register can contact a political party or campaign office and register with a paper form.

Maricopa County Recorder Adrian Fontes said there are a couple other ways to receive a ballot.

Servicearizona.com is the place to go register to vote if you want to do it online,” Fontes said. “Otherwise you can give us a call at 602-506-1511 and we can get you other instructions.”

Fontes said people should not give their information over the phone. He says no legitimate official will call you for registration. He added that his office has seen a big uptick in registrations over the past few weeks.

“Two months ago we were getting about 700 forms a day and now we’re something in the neighborhood of 2,000 to 2,500 forms a day for registrations and modifications — you know, new addresses and stuff like that,” Fontes said. “So it's a very active season for our office.”
