Patricia Castro, the wife of former Arizona Gov. Raul Castro, died on Saturday. She passed away at the age of 94 due to kidney disease.

Family spokesperson James Garcia said Patricia and Raul had a long marriage.

“She was there with him through his time in politics in Arizona, which of course included his stint as the only ever Hispanic governor in the state, as well as three overseas journeys if you will or assignments as ambassadors," said Garcia.

Patricia was heavily involved with the Navajo Nation.

Her husband died in 2015 at the age of 98. He served from 1975 to 1977 as Arizona governor.
