Doug Ducey Re-Elected As Arizona Governor, Defeating David Garcia

Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey won another term in office Tuesday.
At a Republican watch party in Paradise Valley on Tuesday night, Ducey told supporters that Garcia had called to congratulate them on the win.
Ducey called it a spirited campaign about ideas and policy.
He said he was humbled from the support voters had given him:
“It is my honor to continue working on your behalf and I am truly energized by the work that lies ahead," he said.
Ducey took credit for a good economy but acknowledged there was work left to be done in K-12 education.
He thanked those that voted for him and pledged to work for those that did not.
Democratic challenger David Garcia told supporters they had come up short and confirmed that he called Ducey to congratulate him on winning re-election.
Garcia said he was proud to be the Democratic nominee.
He thanked his supporters from the Red for Ed movement, who he said were sick and tired of what was happening to education in Arizona:
“You are not going to go back to your classrooms passively, you’re not going to go back quietly, you are not going to go back and take what has really been taken from you, you are not going to go back to an underfunded maligned public school system," said Garcia.
Garcia said 45,000 people contributed to his campaign.
He called his effort a people-driven campaign and thanked volunteers for their time.
