This Thanksgiving could set travel records as an estimated 30.6 million people will board a plane over the long weekend.

An industry study said airline travel will likely reach an all time high, up five percent from last year’s Thanksgiving weekend.

Krishna Patel, with Sky Harbor airport, said they expect Wednesday and Sunday to be the most crowded.

“It's gonna be a busy travel season so we're expecting about an increase of 20 percent over thanksgiving from our normal operations," she said.

There will also be more travelers on the roadways than in previous years. AAA predicts over 48 million people will drive 50 or more miles to visit friends and family.
