Arizona Auto Show Trends: Electric, Driver-Assist And Midsize Trucks
The Phoenix Convention Center is a hotbed for cars, crossovers and trucks this holiday weekend. The annual Arizona International Auto Show, which runs through Sunday, features nearly 500 vehicles.
More manufacturers are showing off more electric vehicles, said DeeDee Taft, show spokesperson, “You’ll see them at all price points and at all levels.”
Visitors will also see more driver-assist programs.
“They do things for you like self-braking, pedestrian detection, blind spot warnings, 360-degree cameras, automatic emergency braking, lane departure alerts,” Taft explained.
She said SUVs (which are built on truck platforms) and crossovers (which are built on car platforms and combine features of cars and SUVs) continue to outsell sedans. And, they are seeing the return of the mid-size truck.
Visitors can get behind the wheel, ask questions and even test drive dozens of vehicles, but you can’t buy at the show — it’s a no-sell zone.
