Grijalva Calls For Secretary Zinke's Resignation; Zinke Issues Strong Tweet
Arizona Congressman Raul Grijalva wrote an opinion piece in Friday’s USA Today, calling for Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke’s resignation. Secretary Zinke issued a strong response over Twitter.
Zinke responded by saying, “it's hard for him to think straight from the bottom of the bottle.” He was referring to news reports last year about a $48,000 settlement between Grijalva and a former staffer who accused him of being drunk and creating a hostile work environment.
Grijalva issued a statement on Zinke’s Tweet: It said, “The American people know who I’m here to serve, and they know in whose interests I’m acting. They don’t know the same about Secretary Zinke.”
The allegations against Secretary Zinke are credible and serious. Instead of addressing the substantive issues raised in this morning’s op-ed, he's resorting to personal attacks. https://t.co/QRiVPAjxPv— Raul M. Grijalva (@RepRaulGrijalva) November 30, 2018
Grijalva is the top Democrat on the House National Resources Committee. He hopes to head the panel once Democrats take control of the House in January.
