A Taste Of Tucson Reaches Upstate New York

Tucson is well known for its food scene and, now, it’s fame is going out of state — way out of state. Marana-raised chef Joseph Zolnierowski IV recently opened a Tucson-themed restaurant in upstate New York.
That means you can now get a Sonoran hot dog in Rochester, New York. Also on the menu are chicharrones, chimichangas — which were first made in Tucson — and even a fruit bowl with tajin and lime.
Zolnierowski told the Arizona Daily Star that he tried to include all the food that he grew up eating under one roof.
The restaurant, Old Pueblo Grill, is his second restaurant in New York, but his first with a Tucson flare. So if you’re ever in New York — a little far from Arizona — and want a taste of home, you’ll know where you can get a Mexican coke and a carnitas taco that lives up to your Southwestern standards.
