Millions Of School Days Missed By Chronically Absent Arizona Students

According to federal data, during the 2015-16 school year, Arizona students missed at least 3 million days of school.

The problem of chronic absenteeism is one districts face across the state. Arizona Republic education reporter Lily Altavena visited a rural district in southern Arizona and wrote about what she found there.

The Show spoke with her and asked just how big of a problem this is.
