Millennials Leaving Traditional Religion For Christian Mysticism

Recently, The Show talked with the head of the Public Religion Research Institute about how the number of white Americans who self-identify as Christians has dropped rather significantly over the past decade.

But even as that may be true, there is other evidence to suggest that as people move away from traditional religion, they are more likely to desire a different form of spirituality. And some of them are embracing a form of Christian mysticism, which was popular in the 14th Century.

With The Show to talk about spirituality in America was Joel Harrington, professor of history at Vanderbilt University.
