Former Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio may be one step closer to getting his criminal conviction of racial profiling overturned.

The U.S. Justice Department says it will not block the appointment of a special prosecutor in the case of former Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio’s pardon.
