The Show regularly checks in with Editorial Board of the Arizona Republic to talk about the big issues facing the state and the region — featured in the newspaper’s Viewpoints section.
Funding for teachers and K-12 schools in Arizona became a prime focus late in the 2018 legislative session. The #RedForEd movement and an educator walkout helped drive Gov. Doug Ducey to push for 20 percent pay increases for teachers by 2020.
Additionally, lawmakers voted to extend Proposition 301, a 0.6 percent sales tax to help fund K-12.
Arizona Republic Editorial Director Phil Boas joined The Show for his weekly appearance to talk about it.
