Emotions Run High As Arizona Business Fights Anti-Discrimination Law In State Supreme Court

Breanna Koski is one of the owners of Brush & Nib Studio. The businesses has sued Phoenix over its nondiscrimination law, saying it violates her freedom of speech and religion.

Emotions were running high at the Arizona Supreme Court Tuesday as justices there heard a challenge to a Phoenix law that bans discrimination based on sexual orientation.

The owners of a Valley wedding invitation business, Brush & Nib Studio, say that law would force them to violate their religious beliefs about marriage. The city says the company is trying to discriminate against same-sex couples.

KJZZ’s Will Stone was at the the courthouse and has been covering the high-profile case. He joined The Show to talk about it.
