Less Than 2 Percent Of Registered Architects Are African-American

While Arizona doesn’t maintain a record of how many minorities are in the design profession here, nationally we know that out of over 100,000 registered architects — less than 2 percent — are African-American.

Gary Nelson is the president of the Arizona chapter of the National Organization of Minority Architects and KJZZ’s Paige Phelps spoke with him for The Show about minority representation and recruitment into design.
