Immigration Reform May Have Lost Momentum After Shutdown

 When discussing comprehensive immigration reform, the so-called "Gang of Eight" senators including Arizona Republicans John McCain and Jeff Flake seemed to have a lot of momentum for their proposal earlier this year. A strong majority of the Senate allowed the plan to advance, but it has hit a brick wall in the House, and with the recent government shutdown fight, does immigration reform have a chance?


Clint Bolick of the Goldwater Institute cowrote the book "Immigration Wars: Forging An American Solution" with former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush. Tamar Jacoby, president and CEO of Immigration Works USA, also weighed in.
