Salt River Project (SRP) will stop the release of runoff water from its reservoirs this weekend.

Jeff Lane, spokesman for SRP, says the high level of the reservoirs is all thanks to snow melt from Arizona’s high country.

“Our total system right now has reached 78 percent capacity, which is great. So that means we’ve had two wet winters sandwiched around the driest winter on record.”

Lane says all unbridged road crossings affected by the runoff should be reopened.
