Nina Simone was called the “High Priestess of Soul,” but she began as a Juilliard-trained concert pianist. And now, in a new show from the Black Theater Troupe, every stage of the music legend’s storied life is celebrated.
Patdro Harris is the director of “Simply Simone,” and Kenyata Christina White is one of four actresses who portrays her.
They came into the studio recently to tell The Show more about what it means to them to bring her to life on stage.
