The Lake Havasu City and Kingman area is among the poorest in the country.

24/7 Wall St., a financial research website, reported Lake Havasu City as the fifth poorest city. The report is based on U.S. Census 2012 American Community Survey data. The report identified areas with the most number of residents living below the federal poverty level.

America’s other poorest cities are in in southern states. The study also showed the top 10 wealthiest cities. Those are located in California, the north East Coast, Hawaii and Alaska.
