Former Congressman Renzi Seeks Pardon From Trump For Corruption Conviction
Former Republican Congressman Rick Renzi wants President Donald Trump to pardon him.
Rick Renzi was convicted in 2013 of corruption, money laundering and other charges.
The Arizona Daily Sun reported that Renzi’s attorney sent a letter to the Justice Department requesting an investigation.
The letter claims investigators illegally wiretapped conversations and concealed evidence. Renzi was released from prison in 2017 after serving three years.
A spokesman for Renzi says they have not yet received a response from the Justice Department.
