Record-Setting Temperatures Scorch The Southwest

Temperatures soared inside and outside of vehicles this week.
The first official day of summer is two weeks away, but temperatures in parts of the Southwest are already above 100 degrees.
West Texas and southern New Mexico are sweating through a week's worth of triple-digit weather.
El Paso hit record highs every day this week, reaching 109 on Tuesday. That shattered the previous record of 103 in 1990. The city health department declared a weather emergency and asked locals to take extra precautions outdoors.
Across the border in Ciudad Juárez, paramedics passed out water bottles to commuters crossing the international bridge.
In Arizona, triple-digit weather is also causing misery. The National Weather Service issued an excessive heat warning that lasted several days in central Arizona.
