A prison reform group is urging the state to overhaul its prison health care system, saying inadequate care has led to more deaths in the prison system. 

The American Friends Service Committee said problems have increased with the hiring of a new contractor by the Department of Corrections. The group said that has led to denial of care and inadequate staffing levels. 

Corrections officials said they cannot comment because of a lawsuit filed by the American Civil Liberties Union of Arizona.
