At The Other End Of The Migration Line In El Salvador
The fate of children in El Salvador is a focus of the Fronteras Desk this week.
Senior Field Correspondents Jude Joffe-Block and Kate Sheehy are in El Salvador, reporting on the issues surrounding the migration of children from that country to the United States. They’ve been speaking to deported migrants and their families.
Sheehy went to a government-run migrant receiving center in San Salvador, where kids who get caught in Mexico arrive by bus a few times a week.
The Salvadoran government said it's trying to reduce the number of kids leaving the country.
