It was no coincidence investigators quickly made an arrest on an arson suspect wanted after 12 cars caught fire at a Phoenix apartment last week.

Officers arrested 23-year-old Francis Klettke a day later and a lot of the credit is given to a newly formed fire & police task force that embeds officers within fire teams.

Phoenix Fire Assistant Chief Scott Walker has found it allows the agencies to share information quickly.

"Those police officers are right there in the scene," he said. "They can start the process of doing what they do very well, interviewing suspects, reaching out to their leads or different members within their department to find resources that they might have available to them."

The task force began about six months ago and proved to be invaluable tracking down suspects in two prior arson cases to last week's.
