Afghan Broadcasters in Yuma
More than 150 Community radio stations have hit the airwaves of Afghanistan since the fall of the Taliban in 2002 and many received start-up money from the US Government.  But has that money dries up, what happens to these community broadcasters? To figure that out, a group of Afghani Broadcasters traveled to the US in September to learn what they could from broadcasters here.

Mesa Recall Election: Economy, Education on Candidates Minds

Congratulations to the contest winners of the KJZZ End of Year Pledge Drive.Ms. Karen Dennis of Apache Junction won the trip to Rome and Sorrento, Italy. She had made a $25 pledge on Wednesday.Winners of the iPad 2 on Wednesday afternoon were Salvatore and Janet Mele.

Brewer taking a wait-and-see approach to DOJ report
Governor Jan Brewer says yesterday’s report by the U.S. Justice Department does not validate fears that SB 1070 would lead to racial profiling. Among other findings, the feds accuse the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office of engaging in racial profiling.

Anti-Government Protestor Arrested
A member of an Arizona anti-government group known as the "Sovereign Movement" has been arrested - from Phoenix, KJZZ's Lynn Kelly reports.The FBI says forty-six-year-old Shawn Rice of Seligman was previously indicted on money laundering, tax evasion and weapons charges.
