Federal Departments Reporting Reduced Snowpack For This Winter

Two federal departments are reporting troubling snowpack news for this winter.

The Colorado Basin River Forecast Center says Lake Powell is expected to get less than half of its yearly amount of spring runoff.

The Natural Resources Conservation Service says snowpack is about a fifth of where it should be.

Joining me to talk about this season’s snowfall and what it means for the region’s reservoirs is John Fleck, director of the University of New Mexico Water Resources Program.
