Monday is the deadline to register to vote in the special election in Arizona’s 8th Congressional district. If you’re already registered to vote — you’re all set.

Early ballots go out this week. Election day is April 24.

The district covers much of the northwest valley and includes Peoria and Surprise. The candidates are former state Senator Debbie Lesko, a Republican, and Democrat Hiral Tipirneni, a physician.

The winner will take the seat Trent Franks vacated after a sexual harassment scandal last year.
