Ember Conley was most recently the superintendent at the Park City School District in Utah.

The Mesa Public Schools Governing Board is scheduled to vote on a new superintendent contract at its meeting Tuesday night.

The board selected Ember Conley, currently the superintendent of Park City Schools in Utah, to lead the district.

Conley previously said as a first-generation college student, education is her passion.

“It’s not just education,” Conley said. “It’s being able to help students to learn to grow and to reach their dreams.”

The contract includes a $225,000 annual base salary and lasts three years. Conley will also be eligible for incentive pay, life insurance and other benefits. KJZZ has requested a copy of the contract from the district.

The district hopes the new superintendent will start soon after her current job ends May 25.

The Mesa district serves more than 71,000 students.
