On Saturday, KJZZ received two national journalism awards from the Public Radio News Directors Incorporated (PRNDI).

KJZZ took first place in the best multimedia presentation category for “Below the Rim: Life Inside the Grand Canyon.” Reporter Stina Sieg and digital editor Jackie Hai traveled to northern Arizona to explore the lives of the people  — and animals — who work and play below the rim of the Grand Canyon. The digital piece was produced by Hai and Sky Schaudt.

The Show co-host Lauren Gilger recieved first place in the interivew category for “The Conversation Is Changing Around Miscarriage And Infant Loss As More Women Tell Their Stories Online.” Gilger talked with Arizona mom Kalila Martinez about Martinez’s experience with loss.
