Fast And Furious Documents Only Tell Part Of Story
The Obama administration turned over documents Friday related to a federal gun trafficking scandal in Arizona known as Fast and Furious. But the released documents reportedly only tell part of the story.
Since 2012, the Obama administration has resisted demands from Congress to turn over thousands of documents in the Fast and Furious gun-walking operation, in which some 2,000 weapons were allowed to be trafficked over the course of several years.
Two of those guns turned up at the murder scene of Border Patrol Brian Terry in 2010. Another turned up recently at crime lord Joaquín El Chapo Guzmán’s hideout in Sinaloa.
The White House had sought to keep those documents out of the hands of Congress citing executive privilege.
Republican Jason Chaffetz said Friday some of the documents were released but not all of them. He said the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee has filed an appeal demanding all the documents related to the case.
