Musicians perform at a binational concert in Douglas, Arizona, and Agua Prieta, Sonora, known as the Concert Without Borders.

The Concert Without Borders is a binational event with stages set up on both sides of the border fence just west of the port of entry in Douglas, Arizona, and neighboring Agua Prieta, Sonora.

“The special thing about this year is, every piece we are doing is a collaboration on both sides," Lori Keyne said.

She helped found the concert in 2012 as a Fulbright Border Scholar. And it’s been an annual event in Douglas and Agua Prieta since 2014.

This year, in addition to music and dance performances, there will be art walks, art activities for kids and vendors on both sides of the border.

Keyne said it's a chance for people to connect even if they don’t cross the border line.

“You are able to talk to people across the line if you want to. It’s that close," she said.

The concert starts at 5:30 p.m. Saturday and will last about two hours.
