Members of Arizona’s congressional delegation are reacting to President Trump’s announcement that he canceled secret talks scheduled at Camp David with members of the Taliban and Afghan government officials.

Republican Rep. Debbie Lesko said calling off the meeting was the right decision.

"These are not Boy Scouts," Lesko said, "and I don’t know that we can trust them. And so, I think everyone needs to go into it with open eyes."

But Democratic Rep. Tom O’Halleran said any meeting with the Taliban should not happen at Camp David or anywhere else in the U.S.

"This is a terrorist organization that has never put forward any positive indication that they will abide by the processes moving forward," said O'Halleran.

Trump said he canceled the meeting when the Taliban took credit for a suicide car bomb in Kabul, Afghanistan that killed 12 people, including a member of the U.S. military.
