The Arizona GOP is aligning with the Trump re-election campaign to target Democratic Reps. Ann Kirkpatrick and Tom O’Halleran.

As a result, anti-impeachment rallies will be held Tuesday outside their congressional offices in Tucson and Casa Grande.

Calling on constituents in swing districts to “stop the madness,” Arizona Republican Party Communications Director Zach Henry said the rallies target those who follow House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

“These Democrats in swing districts that President Trump won have changed their behavior from the platform that they initially ran on in 2018 where they pledged to voters and constituents in their districts that they would buck the status quo,” Henry said.

Former Texas congressman and presidential candidate Beto O’Rourke was in Phoenix and Tucson on Sunday for campaign events. He said President Trump committed an unlawful act by asking the president of Ukraine to investigate a political rival under threat of withholding military aid.

“It is actually a crime. We know that to be true and if we allow it to pass without consequence, man, it’s not just about President Trump. It’s any president who follows him who will be able to act above the law,” O’Rourke said.

While most of the Democratic presidential field supports impeachment proceedings, Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-HI) told Fox News last month that the process would be “divisive.”
