Why Do Gasoline Prices Fluctuate?

The average price for a gallon of unleaded regular gas in Arizona is $3.14 a gallon. Not terrible, or maybe we’ve just accepted the fact that the price is more likely to go up quickly and come down slowly. At least it seems that way.

John Hofmeister is founder and CEO of Citizens for Affordable Energy and former President of Shell Oil. He explained the price fluctuations.
