In the early summer, one issue led to the most eventful Arizona legislative session in years, Medicaid expansion. The conflict over whether lawmakers should join with Gov. Jan Brewer and approve the expansion led to name-calling, arguments and promises of primary challenges for Republicans who voted in favor.

Now a report by the National Center for Policy Analysis claims the decision to expand Medicaid will lead to a huge increase in the number of people in the program, costing the state millions of dollars. Michael Bond of the University of Arizona co-wrote the report.

David Wells, research director for the Grand Canyon Institute, gave a different perspective on the issue of the cost of Medicaid expansion.
