Here's How You Can Drink Beer In Arizona Made With Recycled Water

Right now, one of the taps at Walter Station Brewery in Phoenix is serving a “unique” American pale ale.
“It’s got a nice light copper color to it,” said owner Jim Erickson after a pour. “That’s just from the ingredients that we use.”
The ale was made from recycled water. The city of Scottsdale gave a bunch of craft breweries hundreds of gallons of recycled water and asked them to make a beer for this weekend’s Canal Convergence festival.
Erickson said beer is 90% water.
“It is the biggest resource that we use. So any opportunity we get to develop new methods of sustainability or protect that resource — we sort of need to jump on it,” he said.
Scottsdale recently got a permit to serve recycled water to people. The beer showcase, the city said, is “to help normalize public perception of direct consumption of recycled water.”
