Kava Bars Open Across America Despite DEA Concerns

Earlier this year, Arizona’s first kava bar opened on Roosevelt Row in Phoenix.

Kava is a plant native to the Pacific Islands and is known best for its relaxation properties. It remains legal, but the Drug Enforcement Administration has attempted to make it a Schedule 1 substance in the past.

To learn more, The Show spoke with Jessie Pettit, an assistant professor at the University of Arizona.
