The Food and Drug Administration has issued warning letters to 15 companies for illegally selling CBD products that violate the Federal Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act. One of those companies is in Arizona.

The company that received an FDA warning letter was Red Pill Medical in Phoenix. Dr. Gregory A Smith is the CEO. He says there’s a lot of confusion in the CBD marketplace.

"The CBD industry is moving so fast that people don’t even know what they should or should not do," he said.

Smith says the FDA’s concerns stemmed from the company’s product labels. According to the FDA, it’s illegal to label CBD as a dietary supplement. Besides issuing warning letters, the FDA said it published a revised consumer update with safety concerns about CBD.
