More than 630 migrants seeking asylum in the United States have been the victims of violent crimes in Mexico after immigration officials sent them there, according to international human rights organization Human Rights First.

This is the result of the Trump administration’s Migrant Protection Protocols program — better known as "Remain in Mexico" — in which migrants seeking asylum are sent to wait on the Mexican side of the border until their court hearings in the United States.

The Texas Tribune’s Julián Aguilar has reported extensively on the border and covered this in his latest report. The Show spoke with him more about what's happening to migrants.
